about: Amanda Bevington
In 1998 I graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelors degree in Social Science. Yes, I know, I know...Social Science? Well, I went out into the world, and was shocked to find that there were so many rules. So, I packed up my navy suits, and landed a bartending gig, which afforded me the opportunity to pursue photography full-time. That creative journey, has led me to a career as a professional lifestyle photographer. After all those years on the Honor Roll, who knew slangin' booze would be the best thing to happen to me?

I love to have fun with my clients & to involve them in the creative process. I am based in Huntington Beach, CA, but travel all over the globe to do what I love. Restrictions were never something that I did well with growing up...so naturally, I don't restrict myself to any one photography market. I shoot editorial, commercial, advertising, weddings and portraits, and even a little product as well. I love it all!

Recently, I have been shooting advertising campaigns for Rip Curl, an international surfing brand. I'm stoked to be a part of the team at Rip Curl! It's a total blast! In November of 2007, I will be launching a website strictly dedicated to my Lifestyle and Advertising photography, so keep an eye out - yeah! This part of my career is a total blast! I can't wait to show you more of what I've been up to.

I love weddings - there is something truly unique about each wedding I photograph. I never approach a wedding with a formula, and a list of shots that I have to get. Rather, I like to just go with the flow, and let my clients personality come thru in the photographs. It's about them after all! I try to remain as unobtrusive as possible, but love to immerse myself in the environment, so that I become part of the action. I find that the rest just falls into place. I photograph weddings with my partner and husband Casey Bevington. He is seriously SO talented...read on! In 2005, I received the prestigious and highly coveted "Top Knots - The New School of Wedding Photography" honor for my wedding photography, by Photo District News in New York City. What a blast! I share that honor with some seriously talented photographers!

I love to travel, and am up for anything! My work has taken me on some pretty spectacular journeys, and each day I am thankful to wake up and love what I do. It is so much a part of who I am. My family and friends are the most important thing in the world to me. I've been so lucky to have been inspired by each and every one of them! The people in our lives are our greatest gifts & I thank the universe for aligning me with such cool people! My husband and my son, are my greatest inspiration! I could never be where I am today, without them.

Giving back is super important to me! In 2006, I accepted a seat on the Advisory Board for Art4Kids, Inc., a non-profit corporation committed to helping children in hospitals, clinics & those with safety and welfare needs, to process stress through the art experience. I also enjoy membership in the Glass Slipper Guild, who's efforts benefit the Children's Hospital of Orange County. I give regularly to other local organizations such as On Track, and the Athletic Programs at California State University, at Long Beach.

I am stoked that you decided to visit the site. I feel extremely grateful to my clientele, who welcome me to embrace and celebrate the most intimate moments of their lives, with my camera. Each and every one of them have made a significant impact on my life, have allowed me the freedom to do what I love, and for that, I am eternally thankful.
